Insights From Our Learners
FANTASTIC DAY – Dianne is brilliant at this – she explained everything, so I understood it and was very supportive with me in the practical bits. This was my first moving and handling training, and it was great.
Everything I learned today is essential for my line of work, it was great.
Learned a lot more today than I did on my last training – great course, thank you.
SVQ TRaining
Qualifications & Professional Development
At Fraser Home Care, we’re passionate about raising the bar – not just for those we care for, but for the whole care sector. That’s why we actively support our team in gaining industry-recognised qualifications that sharpen skills, boost confidence, and meet the standards required by the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC).
We proudly support the following SVQ and PDA qualifications, delivered through partnerships with accredited learning providers:
SVQ 2 / SCQF Level 6 – Social Services and Healthcare
For: Support Workers and Entry-Level Carers
This qualification is designed for individuals working in care home services for adults or in a care-at-home setting. It is the minimum requirement for support workers registered with the SSSC.
If you’re currently employed in care and looking to formalise your experience, this is where your journey starts.
SVQ 3 / SCQF Level 7 – Social Services and Healthcare
For: Experienced Carers and Supervisors
This qualification is ideal for individuals working in a supervisory or senior care role. It builds on core care practices and introduces leadership, delegation, and service planning.
It’s a natural next step for those looking to progress within their team or take on additional responsibilities.
SVQ 4 / SCQF Level 9 – Social Services and Healthcare
For: Managers and Senior Leaders
This advanced qualification is suited to those already working in a leadership role within health and social care. It focuses on managing resources, compliance, staff development, and delivering person-centred care at a service level.
It’s ideal for Registered Managers or those aspiring to senior roles in care.
PDA Health and Social Care Supervision – SCQF Level 7
For: Supervisors and Team Leaders
This Professional Development Award supports those who supervise others in care settings. It focuses on communication, staff development, and ensuring quality care standards are met across services.
It can be completed on its own or alongside an SVQ.
PDA Health and Social Care: Administration of Medicine – SCQF Level 7
For: Carers Involved in Medication Support
This qualification is designed for carers who are responsible for administering medication in a safe and person-centred way. It is relevant to; residential care workers, day care and support workers, personal assistants, workers in services for older people, children, and mental health support
